| Abstract |
Driven by cost efficiency the Flemish department of Finance and Budgeting choose Microsoft SQL Server as their BI platform. Twelve months later the first projects are going into production. First implementations range from cash management, activity based costing and property taxing. Koen will give us an overview on why, what and how this financial department takes on the challenge of going from a stovepipe environment to a central data warehouse. |

Biography Koen Colpaert Koen is currently working as an advisor and project manager on business intelligence for the department of Finance & Budgeting of the Flemish Government after a period as a consultant at Belgian Performance Management Consulting company element61 where he was Senior Performance Management Architect. His specialties are in program management and leading projects in various implementations of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. The 10 years before element61, Koen was mainly working for the Flemish Government. He was responsable for the selection and roll-out of the Cognos BI platform and was teammanager for the central BICC at the department of Bestuurszaken. |
